A potential threat forced The Woodlands High School into a full lockdown on Wednesday afternoon, separating students from their families as officials scrambled to secure the campus.
School administrators reported receiving a threat by phone. In response, they placed the building on lockdown as a precautionary measure. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office immediately began checking the facility and launched an active investigation into the source of the warning.
Witnesses reported that a student had made a threat on social media. According to student reports, that individual was seen running out of a classroom before being arrested. Armed law enforcement officers were observed moving through classrooms, a scene captured in videos shared by FOX 26.
The nature of the threat remains unclear to investigators. The sheriff’s office confirmed that there are no known injuries at this time. The campus remains sealed off to keep staff and students secure while the investigation continues.
Parents gathered outside the school gates, lining up to retrieve their children. However, officials have not yet released students from the main building. Instead, transportation teams are moving students via bus to Bear Branch Park. Parents are now directing their pickups to that location while the high school maintains its lockdown status.
Information for this report comes from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and statements from students on the ground.
