Bears face surging Buccaneers in matchup of offense and rushing strength
Chicago brings a three-game winning streak into Sunday night's meeting with Tampa Bay, whose ground attack and defense have powered consecutive victories.

The Chicago Bears will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Soldier Field on Sunday, Nov. 8, with both teams seeking to extend winning streaks built on different strengths. Chicago has scored 95 points during three consecutive victories, while Tampa Bay has amassed 582 rushing yards across its past two wins. The game is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET and will air on NBC, with streaming available through fubo.
Caleb Williams' return from injury has helped drive Chicago's offensive production. The Bears have scored 31, 30 and 34 points in their past three games, putting their quarterback back into the league's MVP discussion. During that stretch, Williams has completed 73.8 percent of his passes, averaged 287 passing yards per game and thrown four touchdown passes without an interception.
Chicago also received an immediate contribution from Jeffery Simmons following his trade from Tennessee. In his Bears debut against Seattle last Sunday, Simmons recorded six tackles, including one for a loss, along with a sack and a pass breakup. Chicago limited the Seahawks to 17 points, 18 first downs and 252 yards.
Williams now faces a Tampa Bay defense that has surrendered only 13 points and forced eight turnovers over its past two games. The Buccaneers allowed 175 and 125 passing yards in those outings and kept both Carolina and Atlanta below 100 rushing yards despite facing running backs Chuba Hubbard and Bijan Robinson.
Linebackers Josiah Trotter and Alex Anzalone have helped lead that defensive effort alongside pass rushers David Walker and YaYa Diaby. Trotter has recorded 68 tackles and an interception returned for a touchdown, while Anzalone has 42 tackles and three interceptions. Tampa Bay leads the NFL in fewest rushing yards allowed as well as rushing yards gained.
The Buccaneers' running attack has leaned on Bucky Irving and Kenneth Gainwell. Tampa Bay gained 258 rushing yards in a 43-13 victory over Carolina before producing 324 in rainy conditions during last Sunday's 16-0 win against Atlanta. Against the Falcons, the Buccaneers became the first team since 1974 to win without completing a pass.
Irving rushed for a career-best 170 yards against Atlanta, his third 100-yard performance in Tampa Bay's past four games. Gainwell added a career-high 140 yards on 25 carries. Those performances have helped the Buccaneers recover from an 0-4 start, although their passing offense has remained largely absent even with Baker Mayfield back. Their meeting with Chicago pits that productive ground game against a Bears team receiving strong contributions from Williams and its defense.
