Streaming platforms frequently renew hit comedies, but Netflix issued the official order for the fourth season of Nobody Wants This on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
The announcement came just two weeks after the third season debuted. That installment recorded the largest opening week for a returning comedy series on the platform in 2026. The show accumulated 13.4 million views during its first two weeks of release.
Creator and co-showrunner Erin Foster, along with Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, confirmed the renewal in a joint statement. They described the series as their favorite on television and affirmed their commitment to continuing the story. The creative team remains attached to the project, though the full fourth-season cast list has not yet been released.
The third season centered on Joanne and Rabbi Noah, played by Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. The characters moved in together while managing their interfaith relationship. The plot also followed the dating lives of Morgan, Sasha, and Esther, as the latter two resumed their romantic pursuits after a separation.
The renewal follows a public discussion sparked by Brody’s recent remarks on the war in Gaza. In a GQ interview, the actor stated that he considers the conflict a genocide and expressed his desire for a free Palestine. He noted that the situation involves substantial death and misery and feels it has reached a breaking point.
Rabbi Steve Leder, who served as a technical adviser on the first season, criticized Brody’s perspective. Leder, a former senior rabbi in Los Angeles, suggested that Brody’s ignorance of the topic was evident in his statements. He advised that if one knows nothing about a subject, they should remain silent.
Foster addressed the situation on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, comparing their work environment to a family dinner table where people debate and disagree. She noted that she values her relationship with Brody despite their different views. Tovah Feldshuh, who plays Brody’s onscreen mother, told The New York Post that accusing Jewish people of genocide seemed extreme to her. She later clarified on social media that these comments did not create tensions with Brody or the rest of the cast. The fourth season will be produced in Los Angeles by 20th Television, alongside other Netflix productions such as Monster season four and The Lincoln Lawyer season five.
