Jennifer Lawrence said she intervened on a film set after finding unauthorized crew members present during a nude scene. The Oscar winner discussed the incident on Wednesday’s episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. She stated that she reacted strongly to the situation to establish clear standards for future productions.
Lawrence told host Alex Cooper that specific crew members were on set without approval while she was filming nudity. “There was like an instance on set where crew members who weren’t approved when I was doing nudity, [they] were on set,” she said. Lawrence explained that she “came down hard on it” to set a principle. She questioned what might happen to an 18-year-old unknown actor if such violations are not addressed at the top of the industry.
The actress argued that similar situations could pressure young performers to compromise their personal boundaries. She noted that a new actress might feel forced to choose between speaking up and gaining a reputation for being difficult, or allowing unapproved people to see her naked. Lawrence emphasized the importance of explaining to production teams why such violations are unacceptable.
Cooper asked whether Lawrence has become more comfortable advocating for herself in Hollywood. The “Hunger Games” star responded that flexibility is part of the job. She said she speaks up more often now because she is aware of her position in the industry. This shift in approach reflects her growing confidence in defining her professional standards.
Last year, Lawrence discussed a different aspect of on-set safety on the “Las Culturistas” podcast. She talked about her role in the 2025 film “Die My Love” opposite Robert Pattinson. Lawrence stated that she did not feel sensitive about nudity while working on that project. She explained her decision to forgo an intimacy coordinator for the film’s sex scenes.
Lawrence said she felt safe with Pattinson during the “Die My Love” production. “We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did, but we didn’t really… I felt really safe with Rob,” she said. She described Pattinson as not being “pervy” and noted his relationship with fiancée Suki Waterhouse. Lawrence added that she would likely use a coordinator if she suspected a male actor expected a romantic or sexual relationship. She observed that some male actors become offended when such expectations are not met, leading to potential professional consequences.
The “Call Her Daddy” episode is currently available for listening. Lawrence’s comments on the unauthorized crew incident follow her previous discussions about intimacy coordinators and on-set dynamics with co-stars.
