A new $1 million indoor playground opened to the public in Denton on Friday, October 31. The facility, which opened for a soft launch, gave free day play passes to the first 50 children wearing Halloween costumes who bought the required park socks.
The space is designed for children between the ages of 2 and 18. It can hold up to 400 people at any given time. The owner, Dev Ray, stated that Denton is one of the fastest-growing cities in the area and lacked similar recreational spaces. He said the location made sense from a business perspective.
The park includes several specific attractions. These features are a zipline, climbing walls, slides, and obstacle courses. There are also trampolines and a tubes playground. The trampoline areas serve multiple purposes, acting as a basketball court, a dodgeball arena, and a gymnastic runway.
Safety measures vary by attraction. The zipline and climbing walls have height restrictions. Visitors must wear provided harnesses for those activities. Socks are mandatory for all guests inside the park. These socks are sold separately or included with a membership.
The facility includes a cafe and ten private rooms for birthday parties. These rooms are climate controlled. According to prior reports, they can also be rented for adult or corporate events. The park sells single day passes and monthly memberships.
Ray previously noted that the Denton location brings between 35 and 50 part-time and full-time jobs to the area. The Ray family, which includes two daughters and a son, issued a statement about their goals. They described the team as being deeply committed to inspiring healthy and active lifestyles for local kids. The family said they are working to build a high-quality space that the Denton community will love.
The company website states that all activities are designed to promote healthy lifestyles by making exercise fun and engaging. The soft opening marked the first public access to the new venue.
