A Buckeye man is in custody after police said he arranged for another man to sexually assault his fiancée, an attack the woman fought off at her home.

Zarian Dyer, 23, was arrested Thursday morning at his workplace near Roosevelt Street and Verrado Way, according to police. He was booked on charges that include aggravated assault, sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, kidnapping and conspiracy. His booking photo was not immediately available.

The case began on the evening of Oct. 16, when Buckeye police were called to a home near Southern Avenue and Miller Road. Bella Torres reported that an unknown man had walked into the house and attacked her while she was home with her two children.

Torres fought back against the intruder, who was later identified as 20-year-old Adrian Ayala. Ayala fled the scene but was arrested the next day at his home in Goodyear.

Home security video captured the assault. In the footage, Ayala can be heard telling Torres that her partner had sent him to sexually assault her under an agreement made on Reddit. Ayala's attorney repeated that claim in court.

As part of the investigation, detectives searched devices and phones belonging to both Ayala and Dyer, who is Torres' fiancé. Data from those devices reportedly showed evidence of an online agreement for Ayala to attack Dyer's fiancée.

Police said they do not know the motive behind the plot.

After the attack, Torres told Arizona's Family that she did not know Ayala and did not believe her partner knew him either.
