Williamson County officials confirmed the status of seven road projects in the Georgetown area. The updates cover upcoming design phases, active construction zones, and one completed roadway. The county stated that final schematic designs for two new projects are expected by 2027 and 2028.
Design work is currently underway for two upcoming projects. Engineers are developing the final revised schematic for the Phase 2A widening of RM 2243, also known as Hero Way. This phase will expand the road from 183A to Ronald Reagan Boulevard, with the design completion targeted for summer 2028. In parallel, the reconstruction of CR 175 from south of Creek Meadow Cove to RM 2243 has finished its preliminary design stage. The final design for this project is scheduled for 2027.
Construction is active on three separate corridors. Chasco Constructors began work on the Phase 1A widening of RM 2243 in January. This project involves reconstructing and realigning approximately 3.5 miles of the road between 183A and Garey Park. The company also continues work on the Ronald Reagan Boulevard widening, Segment B. This project, which started in 2024, builds a two-lane southbound roadway from Hwy. 29 to FM 3405 and converts the existing road to northbound traffic. The county expects this project to finish in late 2027.
A fourth project is currently under construction on the CR 110 North extension. Work on this roadway began in early 2026. The project extends CR 110 north from CR 111, known locally as Rockride Lane, to connect with Patriot Way at Sam Houston Avenue. Additionally, engineers are addressing design alternatives for the remaining three ramps at the Hwy. 195 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard intersection. The first northbound exit ramp opened on Aug. 24. The final schematic for the other three ramps is anticipated in fall 2027.
The county also reported the completion of the CR 255 reconstruction. A new two-lane roadway was built alongside the existing road from CR 254 to CR 289. The road opened for drivers on Aug. 24. County officials renamed the completed route Tucker Parkway.
