Backup quarterback Max Cutforth threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for a score as No. 20 Boise State defeated Colorado State 64-38 on Saturday night in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The victory extended the Broncos' winning streak to eight games. Cutforth completed 16 of 19 passes while filling in for starter Maddux Madsen, who was sidelined by an injury.

Tailback Dylan Riley contributed 300 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns for the visitors. His performance included a 73-yard score on the second play from scrimmage, where he caught a pass out of the backfield.

Riley gained 192 yards on the ground, including runs of 31 and 42 yards for touchdowns. He added 88 yards receiving and 20 yards on a kickoff return. The season marks his 1,241th rushing yard.

"I'm not going to lie, (the pose) was planned a little bit," Riley said regarding his celebration after his third touchdown. "All my teammates just kept telling me, and this was before this week, they kept saying, 'When are you going to strike the pose? When are you going to strike the pose?' So I was like, 'On the third touchdown, I might as well.'"

Boise State accumulated 669 total yards, the eighth-highest total in program history. It is the most points the Broncos have scored on the road since a 71-13 victory at Chaffey College on Oct. 25, 1952, according to university research.

Coach Spencer Danielson said the team executed well, particularly noting Cutforth's performance. Riley noted that he and his brother have nicknamed Cutforth "Max Cutthroat." "He's doing his thing and I'm really proud of that man," Riley said.

The Broncos improved to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in Pac-12 play. They have won eight consecutive games since a 34-27 season-opening loss at Oregon. The team is positioned as the highest-ranked Group of Six squad in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Colorado State coach Jim Mora said his offense fought but the defense could not record a stop. The Rams fell to 3-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Quarterback Hauss Hejny completed 14 of 25 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns, while also running for 69 yards and a score.

Mora referenced an incident during the game between offensive lineman Toriyan Johnson and strength coach Shelton Bynum. "It's a passionate game played by passionate people that are all alpha dogs," Mora said. "But there's no place for that. So once I see it we'll address it and go from there."

Boise State scored touchdowns on four consecutive drives to open the game and punted only once. Colorado State had allowed an FBS-worst 42.4 points per game before the contest.

The Broncos host Oregon State on Saturday. Colorado State travels to Washington State on Saturday.
