Country radio stations will begin playing the duet “Born and Raised Hell” on Nov. 2. The song features Cody Johnson and the Osborne brothers, John and TJ.
The track is included on the fifth studio album from Brothers Osborne, titled Watertown. The record arrived on Oct. 23 and contains 11 songs. The album draws inspiration from the brothers' upbringing in Deale, Maryland, and the experiences that formed their musical identity.
This marks the second time these artists have collaborated. Brothers Osborne previously appeared on the track “Fool Proof” from Johnson’s album Banks of the Trinity earlier this year. John Osborne, Lee Miller, and Kendell Marvel wrote the new song. The lyrics address memories of childhood mischief and the connection to a hometown that persists after moving away.
The music video for the single was directed by Nick Swift and filmed in Nashville. The visual style aims for a vintage aesthetic. It shows the three performers singing in a garage and intercuts these scenes with footage of young people engaging in adventurous activities.
Fans can access the audio and the video immediately. The scheduled radio impact date is the only future milestone listed for the release.
