Penske Entertainment, the Dallas Cowboys and REV Entertainment, the events partner of the Texas Rangers, have announced a joint effort to stage the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington. The race is scheduled to debut in March 2026 on a street circuit in the city.
The 2.73-mile course is planned to run through Arlington's Entertainment District, passing AT&T Stadium, where the Cowboys play, and Globe Life Field, home of the Rangers. According to the announcement, the district hosts numerous major events and sells more than 1.6 million tickets each year to visitors from around the world.
The race will join the calendar of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, which also includes the Indianapolis 500. Organizers describe it as a marquee event for North America's top open-wheel series, with cars reaching speeds above 230 mph.
FOX has partnered with INDYCAR to provide live coverage, which will make the Arlington race a nationally televised event. Roger Penske, chairman of Penske Corporation, said the partners intend to "build racing's next global spectacle." He added that everyone involved is committed to delivering a unique weekend for the city, and thanked the Cowboys, the Rangers, REV Entertainment and Arlington's leadership team for their support.
Arlington Mayor Jim Ross called the district a fitting backdrop for the competition and described the announcement as "an economic win for North Texas." The event is expected to attract motorsport fans from across the country and beyond, with significant economic benefits anticipated for the region.
Neil Leibman, president of business operations and chief operating officer of the Texas Rangers, called the occasion "a historic day" for the team and REV Entertainment. He said the race would "set a new standard" for the Entertainment District and that organizers look forward to welcoming fans from around the world.
Bill Miller, a motorsport executive with more than three decades in the industry, will lead development of the event. He previously served as president of California Speedway and as senior vice president of operations at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA).
The race weekend will include general admission, reserved seating, VIP hospitality and party zones. Jerry Jones, owner, president and general manager of the Cowboys, said the collaboration among the organizations would make the race special and create a showcase with FOX for viewers around the world.
