A three-hour warehouse shift on November 12 grants access to Big Slim's upcoming festival at Reliant Park.

The Houston Food Bank is pairing a standard logistics shift with entertainment access to drive volunteer participation. The organization has scheduled a special community event for Thursday, November 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This initiative targets local residents who wish to assist with hunger relief while securing entry to a major city event.
During the three-hour window, participants will work inside the warehouse to sort, prepare, and package donated items. These goods are intended for distribution throughout the community. The event is organized in collaboration with 97.9 The Box and artist Big Slim. Big Slim will make a special appearance to support the Houston community and extend his influence beyond the music industry.
Each volunteer receives one free ticket to the King of Cars Custom Car Show & Culture Fest. This festival is scheduled for Sunday, November 22, at Reliant Park. The event features Houston's car culture, music, and community gatherings. The volunteer role serves as the primary method for obtaining admission to this anticipated November event.
Volunteer spots are limited, and advance registration is mandatory for all participants. Walk-ins will not be accepted for this specific shift. Interested individuals must register through the Houston Food Bank’s Serve With Slim registration page to secure their place in the 97.9 The Box and Big Slim initiative.
