Houston Dynamo broke a 13-game losing streak in Seattle on Wednesday night.

The win, achieved by a 1-0 margin, marks the first time Houston has defeated the Sounders on the road in their all-time history.

Lucas Halter scored the decisive goal in the 26th minute. He headed home a corner kick delivered by Mateusz Bogusz, marking his first goal in 20 MLS appearances. Bogusz recorded his fifth assist of the season with the play.

The result moves Houston to fourth place in the Western Conference. The top four teams earn home-field advantage in the best-of-3 first round of the postseason. Houston enters the final two matches with a 14-9-9 record.

Jonathan Bond made six saves to preserve the lead, extending his clean sheet total to 13 for the season. This ties him for second in the league for most clean sheets.

Seattle, now 11-11-10, falls to eighth in the West. The Sounders maintain a two-point lead over the Los Angeles Galaxy for the final postseason spot, with two games remaining. Goalkeeper Andrew Thomas did not record a save in the loss.

Both teams had reached Wednesday's match coming off a stretch of draws. Houston had played four straight games without a win this month, while Seattle had tied its previous two contests.

Houston travels to Portland to face the Timbers on Sunday. Seattle hosts the Vancouver Whitecaps on the same day.
